During my short-term mission in Chicago, I really learned and gained a lot of experience by reaching others. God’s purpose for us is to serve in different types of missionary work for all ages and for all fields.
However, in my own perspective, a true missionary for Christ has zeal for Him and must be equipped by trusting Him all the way and giving your life to Him. As Christians, don’t be afraid to share the love of the Lord’s words to anyone who needs his love. Be attentive and listen to where he wants you to go.
I have been on a mission for Christ almost my whole life but I always have served the youth and focus on children ministry work around the world. I never knew that even my homeland in Chicago needs the Lord’s love. We could walk from distances or travel around the world to share the love of Christ.
From what I have learned, love of a simple task is already an action from the Lord. It is important to accept and develop a relationship in our team. Team isn’t about age, race or language, but rather a simple form of loving, caring, supporting and being there for one another. In my years, I have heard much stereotyping of Chinese-Americans or Chinese. The truth is, we are all brothers and sisters in Christ when you look beyond varying heritage and cultures. We are just children of God; we are unique in many different way. Instead of judging someone’s background or where they’re from, seek to develop relationships with one another.
If the Lord tells you to do something, step into the faith and let Him do the work, according to his purpose.

對我來說，一個真正的宣教士必須有對神的熱情、全心的順服、並把生命全然交給他。而作為基督徒，我們不要害怕與陌生人分享神的愛，因為這個正正是他們所需要的，細心聆聽主的聲音，看看祂要帶領你往哪裡。
我時常有機會參與一些海外的短期宣教活動，但主要都集中在年輕人和小朋友的事工上；我卻未發現原來我的家—芝加哥也需要神的愛！我們可以走要遙遠的國家去傳揚神的福音，但也可以在腳步之遙的地方找到有相同需要的人。
我發現一個小小愛心的行動，已經是神的作為了！我也發現在隊內建立一個愛心的關係也很重要的：一個隊工不分年齡、不分文化背景和語言的限制—反而是一種互相關心、互相支持、彼此相愛的關係。我聽過有人劃分這裡的中國人是否美國出生 (American-Born Chinese)或是純正的中國人，但真相是，我們在主內都是弟兄姐妹，不受文化或種族的界限；我們只是神的兒女—被造成不同的樣式。讓我們不要因著別人不同的背景來論斷，反而要尋找建立關係的機會。
如果神告訴你要做什麼，憑著信心按著他的旨意去做吧，相信你會有意外驚喜的！
